Inc Authority is one of a few LLC formation services that has moved to a free formation model. Based on the company’s high ratings, positive reviews and number of years in business, we believe it to be a reliable source for online LLC formation.

Inc Authority’s entity-setup service is free. Customers only pay state fees and postage. Included for free are the following services: business name check, digital storage and delivery, customer support via email or phone, preparation and filing of entity formation paperwork, one year of Registered Agent service, an S-Election form, and a Tax Planning Consultation and Business Funding Analysis. If you’re interested in additional business services, Inc Authority offers upgrades at checkout—like a Record Book for $99, Website Registration for $19, and Inc Protection Advisor for $197/year.

As we completed the online enrollment process for this company, we noticed two things in their Terms of service:

1. Month-to-month subscription with automatic billing. As soon as Inc Authority processes your payment, you are automatically enrolled in a month-to-month subscription, which will continue without a renewal notice until you cancel. You can cancel within 14 days to process a full refund, or cancel after 14 days, to end service beginning in the next month’s billing period.

2. Registered agent service. This is free for one year, and $99 thereafter. You can't decline this service, but can terminate before the free period ends.

To ensure an accurate comparison, we look at a few features we believe are the most essential: (1) preparation and filing of LLC paperwork with the state; (2) within two business days; (3) with a custom/personalized operating agreement; and (4) a federal tax ID/EIN.

Inc Authority’s free service only includes the first feature. You can add the EIN at checkout for $49, add an Operating Agreement for $89, and add Express Processing for $49. This would give you a total cost of $187 + State Filing Fees.
